WATERLOO/GENEVA - Leo H. Eskildsen, 78, formerly of E. Main St., Waterloo, passed away on Tuesday (March 18, 2014) in the Homestead in Penn Yan.
Friends may call at the DeVaney-Bennett Funeral Home, 181 N. Main St., Geneva, on Saturday from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. Funeral Services will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Deborah Lind-Schmitz, Interim Pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Geneva, will officiate. Burial will be in Gorham Cemetery, Gorham, at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions, in his memory, may be made to the Ontario Yates Hospice or to the Alzheimer's Association .
Leo was born in Gorham and was a lifelong resident of this area. He was the son of the late Herman and Myrtle Symonds Eskildsen. He was a graduate of Oswego State University and was employed for many years with Iverson Construction Co. of Gorham. He served his country in the US Army and was a member of the Buckskin Bowman Club and loved to do leatherwork and drawings.
He is survived by his sisters, Jane Klein of Waterloo and Karen Neidigh of Ft. Myers Beach, Fla.; three nephews, Brad, and Eric Neidigh of Fla., and William Klein of North Carolina; two grand nieces, Jessilyn and Gabriel Klein.
