Geneva - Elizabeth J. "Betty" Bush, age 79, passed away at home on March 18, 2014.
Friends may call Saturday (March 22) from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. A Memorial Service will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Bellona Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Keuka Comfort Care Home, 35 Rte. 54, Penn Yan, N.Y. 14527; or the Ontario-Yates Hospice, 756 Pre-Emption Rd., Geneva, N.Y. 14456.
Born in Penn Yan, Betty was the daughter of the late Glenn A. and Ellen Andersen. She was a 1953 graduate of Penn Yan Academy. Betty married Sherlin Bush on Feb. 23, 1957. She and Sherlin owned and operated a Dairy and cash crop farm. She was also a cake decorator and caterer. Betty was the cook and manager for the Geneva Rod & Gun Club for 5 years, and a cook and manager for the Nutrition Department of the Ontario County Office for the Aging for 15 years, retiring in 2008. Betty was a member of the Danish Sisterhood and the Bellona Volunteer Fire Company's Ladies Auxiliary.
Betty is survived by her husband of 57 years, Sherlin Bush; two sons, Allen S. (Dawn) Bush of Bellona and Curtis J. Bush of Geneva; one daughter, Lori J. (Bruce Sanford) Fritz of Geneva; two granddaughters, Melissa (Daniel) Green and Melanie (Michael) Perri; one grandson, David (Lindsey Scott) Fritz; great-granddaughter, Katherine Green; sister, June Paulsen; brother, Glenn (Elaine) Andersen; sisters-in-law, Jeannine Andersen and Patricia Andersen; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, M. Gordon Andersen.
