Aurora M. Sinisi entered eternity on January 19, 2014, at the home of her daughter, Lori D.S. Durland, 5 Mayfair Grove Ct, The Woodlands, Texas, 77381.
Aurora was born to the late Frank and Angelica (née DeJohn) Mason on May 24, 1922, in Newark, New York. She graduated from Newark High School in 1939, and worked as an Executive Secretary for Kordite, Mobil Chemical, and Exxon. After retiring she enjoyed traveling, reading, watching movies, and playing her favorite card game, Spite and Malice.
Aurora is remembered with love by her children Lori D.S. Durland (husband Ross) of The Wood lands, Texas, and Vincent Sinisi (wife Sherry) of Magnolia, Texas; her seven grandchildren: Jeffrey Carlyle (wife Erin), Kristen Kirby (husband Chad), Vincent Sinisi (wife Erin), Garrett Durland, Nicholas Sinisi, Brett Durland, and Angelica Sinisi; her six great-grandchildren: Callie Carlyle, Jackson Carlyle, Addison Kirby, Jackson Sinisi, Payton Sinisi, and Reese Kirby; and by her sister Marion Bohusz, brother Eugene Mason (wife Patricia), and several nieces and nephews.
Aurora was predeceased by her loving sisters Rosalie Shane, Joan Perring, and Delores Wagemaker, her brother Francis Mason, and by her great-granddaughter McKenzie Reese Sinisi.
Very special thanks go to Pastor Tristan Monterroso for his blessing on Aurora so that she would know God is with her always. Enormous appreciation and gratitude also go to Carol, Lyn, and all the staff at Odyssey/Gentiva Hospice.
A Mass will be held in Aurora's honor at St. Michael's Church in Newark, New York, at 10 AM May 24th, 2014. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Odyssey/ Gentiva Hospice (www.gentivahospicefoundation.org) or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org/donate).
