Bloomfield - Leo O. Lembke, age 87, passed away Thursday (December 12, 2013) at F.F. Thompson Hospital.
There will be no calling hours. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 tomorrow (Monday) at Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc., 2 South Ave., Bloomfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to E. Bloomfield-Holcomb Fire Department and Ambulance, PO Box 246, E. Bloomfield, N.Y. 14443.
Mr. Lembke was born December 3, 1926 in Rochester. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Lembke retired from Gleason Works in Rochester in 1988, after 36 years there. He was a member of the American Legion Bloomfield Savage Post 970, Veterans of Foreign Wars, West Bloomfield Chapter and the Canandaigua Moose Club. Mr. Lembke enjoyed travelling, dancing and playing cards. He loved spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy (Barrett) Lembke; daughter, Lynne (John) Sweeney of Clifton Springs; two grandchildren, Michael (Megan) Sweeney of Rochester and Meghan (Matthew) Bowman of Clifton Springs; two great-grandchildren, Aria Sweeney and Chase Bowman; brother, Robert (Vicki) Lembke of Greece, N.Y.; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Gary L. Lembke in November, 2013; and six brothers and four sisters.
