Patrick H. Curry, Sr., 84, of Donald Drive, Moravia, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2013 in the Groton Community Heath Care Center after a long illness.
Pat was born July 11, 1929 in Brooklyn, a son of the late Agustuv and Catherine Harrison Curry. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the VFW in Brooklyn. Pat moved to Moravia with his family in 1970 and had lived here most of his life. He was a former employee of Hewitt Bros. of Locke and retired from the NYSDOT in 1995.
He was a member of the Moravia Fire Department, St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Groton, NYS CSEA and had been a former Little League coach in Moravia.
Pat is survived by his wife, Kathleen Carney Curry, whom he married Oct, 5, 1963. Also surviving are his daughter, Kathleen Curry, of Cortland; three sons, Patrick Curry Jr. and Brian (Susan) Curry, both of Auburn, Kevin Curry (Joyce Williams), of Southbridge, Mass; four grandchildren, Sarah, Braeden, Moira and Ethan; one sister, Mary Cambria, of Brooklyn; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 18, in St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Route 38, Groton, with the Rev. Eloo Malachy officiating. Interment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Groton, in the spring. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at the Wade Funeral Home, 22 Church St., Moravia.
