John "Paul" Lupo, 86 of Stryker Homes, Auburn, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon Nov. 7, 2013 at the Auburn Nursing Home.
He was a life resident of Auburn, the son of the late Michael and Katherine Lupo. “Paul,” as he was affectionately known by his family and friends, was a member of the Army National Guard. Prior to his retirement, Paul drove truck for more than 60 years at various local companies. John Paul loved watching ‘old’ movies, playing cards and going out to dinner with his relatives and friends. He was also a sports enthusiast and especially enjoyed following the New York Yankees baseball team.
To know John Paul was to love him, his quick wit and infectious smile will always be remembered and never forgotten.
He is survived by his two brothers, Frank (Barbara) Lupo, Tom (Linda) Lupo; sisters-in-law, Kathy Lupo, Vina Lupo, Anna Lupo, Winnie Lupo, and very close friend Kathy Evans, all of Auburn; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, John Paul was predeceased by his wife, Virginia; and six brothers Sam, John, Tony, Jimmy, Joe and Pete Lupo.
Calling hours are today from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St., Auburn. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. A graveside service will be held next week at the convenience of the family.
