Louis A. Ciancaglini, age 88 of East North St. Geneva passed away on Thursday (November 7, 2013) at home. Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday (Nov. 12 ) at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home 45 High St. Geneva. Members of the Sons of Italy will meet at 6:00 p.m. and members of the American Legion will meet at 6:30 p.m. for services at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (Nov. 13 ) with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis deSales Roman Catholic Church. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum.

Louis was born on March 30, 1925 in Geneva the son of the late Joseph and Mary Benvenuti Ciancaglini. He served in the US Marines during WWII as an airplane mechanic and after the service played semi-pro football. Louis became a Brick Layer and was a member of the Brick Layers Union for 60 years. He was one of the original founding members of the Sons of Italy Lodge 2397 and served as President from 1988-1990, a member of the American Legion Winnek post 396 Geneva, Marine Corp League and St. Francis deSales Church. Louis enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren and his great love for Jazz.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Viola; children, Louis R. (Terry) Ciancaglini of Geneva, Tammy (Bruce) Jensen of Geneva, Donna (Dan) Brown of Stanley and Rodger (Pornrut) Ciancaglini of Rushville; grandchildren, Cassondra (Jason) Monahan, Matthew Ciancaglini, Robert and Jeffrey Jensen, Danielle, Jaret and Katelyn Brown, Christopher and Nicholas Ciancaglini; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Sophia Monahan; brothers, Joseph (Rose) Ciancaglini and Sully (Gloria) Ciancaglini; sister-in-laws, Elizabeth Bailey of Penn Yan and Evelyn Pelmear of Virginia; brother-in-law, Leonard (Wendy) Dimon of Geneva; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Louis was predeceased by infant children Rodney and Mary; brother, Angelo Ciancaglini; sisters, Theresa Caslin and Nancy Bovia.
