John H. Fordon

John H. Fordon, of Geneva, passed away on Wednesday (Novem ber 6, 2013) at Geneva General Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Family and friends may call on Monday (Novem ber 11) from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home, 45 High St., Geneva. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis deSales Roman Catholic Church Exchange St., Geneva. Private burial will be in Washington St. Cemetery.

John was born on July 15th, 1938, the son of the late John C. & Dorothy (Kelley) Fordon. He was a graduate of Geneva High School where he was an active member of the Fu ture Farmers of Ameri ca. While there he excelled in Oratorical Speaking Con tests throughout NYS. He attended Cornell Uni ver sity, enrolled in the Agri cul ture Program, specializing in Pomology. He was an 8th generation fruit and vegetable grower on Beans' Hill and operated a farm equipment dealership (F & W Equipment Co.) for over 20 years. He loved farming, golfing, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving family, wife Beverly (DeJohn) Fordon; son David of Middlesex, N.Y.; daughter Beth ( Doug) Pomroy of Pittsford, N.Y.; grandchildren Jaden & Jamison Pomroy, and Jordan Jensen; sisters Nancy Johnston of Win throp, N.Y., Mary (Ed) Cardinale of Roch ester, N.Y.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
