Clifton Springs - Scott M. DeBoerdere, 43, passed away on Friday (October 25, 2013) at Unity Hospital, Greece, N.Y. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1072 Route 96, Waterloo, N.Y. at 1 p.m. Saturday, (November 9, 2013). It is requested that memorial donations be made to Nancy DeBoerdere, 1536 County Road 43, Clifton Springs, N.Y. 14432.
Scott was born on February 20, 1970 in Newark, N.Y, and was the son of Maurice and Betty DeBoerdere. He was employed at IEC in Newark and Perkin Elmer/Eaton in Phelps. Everyone that knew Scott loved him, whether it was for his kindness or just being there for you. But, most of all, they loved him for his quick-witted humor; he made everyone smile. Scott showed extraordinary courage and faced his illness fearlessly, in harmony with Joshua 1:9. He was determined to stay loyal to his hope in Jehovah's promises. He now awaits Jehovah's call to him at the time of his resurrection back to life in perfect health.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Nancy; daughter Emily (Michael Bradley); and granddaughter Ava; his mother-in-law Pamela Record of Clifton Springs; two sisters, Sue (Jason) Colvin of South Carolina, Lisa Blankenberg of Newark; brother Jamie DeBoerdere of Newark, sister-in-law Karen (Randy) Randall, of Clifton Springs, brother-in-law Frank (Vicki) Record of Palmyra; brother-in-law Scott (Cheryl) Record of Clifton Springs, and; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews and large family of spiritual brothers and sisters..
He was predeceased by his parents, Maurice and Betty DeBoerdere; and his father-in-law Frank Record.
Funeral arrangements have been made with the Cheney Funeral Home, 70 Main Street, Phelps.
