Penn Yan - Howard Rogers, age 91, died Thursday (September 26, 2013). A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. (Tuesday, Oct. 1st) at the Penn Yan Bible Church. Military Honors will be held at the church, immediately following the service.

Howard served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and received a Good Conduct Medal, a European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, and a World War II Victory Medal. He married Pauline Snyder in 1947. Howard retired from the NYSEG Greenidge Station in Dresden in 1984. Howard attended the Penn Yan Bible Church. He was a member of the Dresden Masonic Lodge #308, the Penn Yan V.F.W., the Penn Yan American Legion and the National Rifle Association.
Howard is survived by two sons, Randie Rogers of Penn Yan and Craig (Susan) Rogers of California; four grandsons, Neil (Lydia) Rogers, Jesse (Yan) Rogers, Christopher Rogers and Ryan Rogers; one granddaughter, Madison Rogers; two sisters, Marguerite Smith and Flossie (Myrl) Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
Howard will be greatly missed by his friends and family, who know what a wonderful man that he was.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham.
