West Monroe, LA - George James Crary Sr., 74, was born November 3, 1938, in Canton, New York, and passed away on September 6, 2013, after a long illness. He was the son of the late Maurice and Gaynell Crary of Crary Mills, New York, and he retired as a construction supervisor from Houston's Brown and Root, now KBR, in 1983.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Janet Crary; son, George J. "Jim" Crary, Jr. of Houston, Texas; daughter, Marianne Crary Towne of West Monroe, La.; two granddaughters, Krystle Mahoney and Samantha Messina of West Monroe, La.; great-grandson, Braxton Mahoney of Monroe, La.; sister, Mrs. Daniel (Gaynell) Rawley of St. Augustine, Fla.; sister-in-law, Mrs. Lyle (Barbara) Crary of Fulton, N.Y.; as well as many loved nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his sons, Glenn Jay and Gary-John Crary; three brothers, Lyle, Lawrence, and Lloyd Crary; three sisters, Mildred Barkley, Veleta Cuthburt, and Leona Capalario.
A private interment of his cremated ashes will take place at a later date.
