PHELPS - Loretta R. "Teddy" Young Springer, age 89, of 4 Walnut Street, died on Wednesday (August 28, 2013) with her family by her side.
Friends may call on Saturday (Aug. 31) from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Landmark Free Will Baptist Church, Rt. 96, Clifton Springs, N.Y. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow. Private interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Loretta was born on August 25, 1924 in Phelps, N.Y., the daughter of the late Clarence and Helen Travis Young. She was a member of the Landmark Free Will Baptist Church. Loretta was a member of the Phelps American Legion Ladies Auxiliary for 45 years. She was also a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Bowling League at Sunset Bowl. Loretta was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.
It is requested that memorial donations be made to the Landmark Free Will Baptist Church, 2143 Rt. 96, Clifton Springs, NY 14432.
Loretta is survived by her husband of 41 years, Robert P. Springer of Phelps; children, Carol (Ron) Hearns of Kansas, Pat Smith of Waterloo, Roger (Charlotte) Conklin of Arizona, Walter (Sharon) Young of Waterloo, Phillip Young of Phelps, Judy (Kris) Clark of Waterloo; brother, Roger Young of Kentucky; brother-in-law, Donald (Louise) Springer of Geneva; sister-in-law, Sharon Howey of Rochester; 14 grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.
Funeral arrangements have been made with Cheney Funeral Home, 70 Main St., Phelps.
