Betsy Mae (Lord) Peirce CANANDAIGUA - Betsy Peirce, 85, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Aug. 24, 2013, at F.F. Thompson Hospital. Born in New Bedford, Mass., Betsy raised her family in Rochester, Mass. She is survived by her husband, C. Condit Peirce; son, Charles K. (Diana) Peirce, M.D. of College Station, Texas; daughters, Kate K. (Randall) Ott of Shortsville, Sharon L. (Patrick) Cullinane of Farmington and Carol M. (Steve Bieghler) Peirce of Pomona, Calif.; grandchildren, Andrew, Emily and Rebecca Peirce, Nathan R. Ott, J. Benjamin Nevius and Kate E. Russell; sister, Marjorie R. Gourley; nephew, Steve N. Gourley; and sister-in-law, Hilda N. Peirce. Betsy graduated from St. Luke's nurse's training in New Bedford and worked as a nurse for nine years. She loved working with children and taught kindergarten and nursery school at Long Plain Baptist Church in Acushnet, Mass., for many years. Friends may call on August 29 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Fuller Funeral Home Inc., 190 Buffalo St., Canandaigua. A 3 p.m. funeral service will follow at the funeral home.
