John G. "Jack" Schilbe RUSHVILLE - John G. "Jack" Schilbe, age 77, passed away on Aug. 23, 2013. Jack was born in Pittsford and was the son of the late Gustav and Elsie (Voss) Schilbe. He was in business for 42 years at Schilbe and Brokaw Excavating Inc. He also was a farmer in the Pittsford area for many years and continued his love of farming after he moved to the Gorham area. Jack was a member of the Gorham town board. He was an avid NASCAR racing fan. He also loved hunting and fishing and encouraged young people to experience the sport. He was a member of the Middlesex Conservation Club. He was well known for restoring farm equipment and tractors, which he entered into many of the local tractor pulls. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Josephine Schilbe (Brokaw); son, John G. Schilbe Jr.; brothers, Herbie Schilbe of Dolbeville, N.Y., and William Schilbe of Pittsford; grandchildren, Tiffany and Ben Bleemel; great-grandchildren, Josie and Nathan Bleemel; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; many nieces and nephews; and best buddy, Renegade. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 28, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Fuller Funeral Home Inc., 190 Buffalo St., Canandaigua.
