CLIFTON SPRINGS - Dixie Kay Mosley Ferber, 71 of Clifton Springs, N.Y., passed away unexpectedly at home Monday (July 1, 2013).
Born a Coal Miner's daughter to John and Violet (Stewart) Mosley on 3/22/1942 in Ravencliff, Wyoming County, West Virginia.
Dixie is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Anton; her daughter, Sophia Ferber and Reg O'Hearn; son, John and Christina Ferber of Clifton Springs, N.Y.; grandchildren, Tiffany (Jeff) Senkiw of East Greenbush, N.Y., J. Trenton Jones, Alex and Gina Ferber of Clifton Springs; one sister, Alice (Fran) Kneut of Newark; brothers, Roy (Marilyn) Mosley of West Virginia, Jerry (Barbara) Mosley of Virginia, and brother/ sister in law, Helmuth and Hannelora Reinhardt of Newark, along with several nieces and nephews.
Dixie was predeceased by her parents, John and Violet Mosley; siblings, Lucille Hall, Ted Mosley, Bill Mosley, Jack Mosley; and her beloved dog, Squeaky.
Dixie was previously employed in Healthcare as a CNA prior to retirement.
Dixie was a loving and nurturing woman whose life revolved around those she loved. She gave unconditional love and support to her children which in turn made them stronger individuals in life. Dixie loved her Gee babies - Tiffany, Trent, Alex and Gina.
At the request of the deceased and the family, there will be no calling hours.
A private memorial will be held in Dixie's honor with her immediate family only.
Funeral arrangements have been made with the Cheney Funeral Home, 70 Main Street, Phelps.
