Peter G. French, 71, of Nursery Ave., passed away on Thursday (April 25, 2013) in his home.
Friends may call at the DeVaney-Bennett Funeral Home, 181 N. Main St., Geneva on Sunday (April 28, 2013) from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Monday (April 29, 2013) in the funeral home and at 10 a.m. in St. Stephen's Church. Burial with full military honors will be in Glenwood Cemetery.

Peter was born in Seneca Falls and raised in Waterloo. He was the son of Margaret Lambert Archer and the late Guido French. He graduated from Waterloo High School in 1959. He was a member of the Waterloo Sports Hall of Fame being inducted in 1995 and served his country in the US Army serving two years in Germany during the Vietnam War. He helped organize the Seneca Falls Waterfalls semi-pro baseball team and also played on the team and coached the DeSales Varsity Baseball team with Frank Pane for over eighteen years. He was an avid New York Yankee and New York Giants fan and retired from the US Post office after thirty years. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish.
He is survived by his wife Mary; his mother, Margaret Archer of Seneca Falls; his stepsons, Christopher (Amy) John of Spencerport, Jeffrey (Tia) John of Cornelius, N.C.; his sisters, Theresa Trickler of Waterloo and Liz (Bill) Marsh of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Madison, Brady, and Mason John; his brother-in-law, Jack Williams of Geneva; special niece, Jackie Williams; his aunts, Virgie Siberski of Trevorton, Penn., Rose Philistine of Clermont, Fla., Yolanda Giansante of Penn Yan, N.Y. and Sam (Mary) Giansante of Elba, N.Y.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his son, Michael French and his sister-in-law, Josie Williams.
