NEWARK - Lola M. Viola, 81 of S. Main St. died Thursday (April 25). Friends may call Monday 4 to 7 p.m. at Schulz Pusateri Funeral Home, 103 Maple Ct., Newark. Funeral services Tuesday 10 a.m. at funeral home. Burial in Newark Cemetery.

Lola was born in Newark on June 12, 1931, daughter of Peter and Marie Schumann Bouwens. She worked at C.H. Stuart, Scofield Diner, Newark Country Club, Pee Wee Lunch and Newark Manor. She had a great interest in Rose Garden affairs, doing reporting for the paper and keeping track of people. She loved to play cards and bingo. She was a member of St. Michael's Church.
Survived by her twin sister Laura (Ted) Sekulic of Newark; sisters-in-law, Betty Barberi Viola, Betty Derr Viola, Frances Viola Curtis, Gloria Viola, Barbara DiPillo; brothers-in-law, Tom & Anthony Viola, many cousins, nieces & nephews, dear friends Margaret Greco, Jerry Boyd, Barb & Jim Rugenstein, and good friend Chuck.
Predeceased by her husband Frank (2005); son Paul (1972); sisters, Pauline, Mabel and Jerry; brothers, Oliver, Carl, Frank and Peter; and brothers-in-law, Frank, Don and Bill Viola.
