Rose Commisso Militello Rose Commisso Militello, a resident of the Elizabeth Brewster House in Homer, N.Y., passed away peacefully on April 22, 2013, at the age of 96. A lifelong resident of the Victor and Canandaigua areas, Rose was born on Dec. 28, 1916, and was a daughter of the late Domenick and Angelina Giardino Commisso. Mrs. Militello retired from Mobil Chemical in 1986, after 40 years of service. Following her retirement, she volunteered at Victor-Farmington Ambulance Corps for many years, working a total of 18,000 hours. In 1992, she was honored as Citizen of the Year by Victor Chamber of Commerce and also in 1995 as Citizen of the Year by Victor-Farmington Rotary Club. Rose moved to Homer in 2001 and enjoyed 12 years at the Elizabeth Brewster House. She attended St. Margaret's Church and also volunteered many hours, along with her daughter and son-in-law, at Cortland Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her son-in-law, Nicholas V. "Nick" Bellucci Sr. of Binghamton, N.Y.; granddaughter, Kathi J. (Glen) Bellucci of Vestal, N.Y.; grandson, Nicholas V. (Tracie) Bellucci Jr. of San Antonio, Texas; and four great-grandchildren, Evan and Alexa McCool and Alexander and Luke Bellucci. She is also survived by her sister, Catherine Militello of Victor. She was predeceased by her husband, Russell Militello in 1995; daughter, Rose Marie Militello Bellucci in 2008; and siblings, Mary Commisso, Marian Militello, Rocco Commisso and Antoinette Carney. There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 30, at 11 a.m. at St. Margaret's Church, 14 Copeland Ave., Homer, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Paul J. Alciati. The family will meet relatives and friends at a reception in the church basement following Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Militello's name may be directed to Victor-Farmington Ambulance Corps, 1321 E. Victor Road, Victor, NY 14564. Arrangements are by Donald L.
