PALMYRA - Barbara L. Marsden passed away peacefully on April 16th, 2013 at Fairport Baptist Home after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Her family was at her side.
Their will be no services. The family will celebrate her life at their convenience.

Barbara was born on Jan. 26, 1935 to Marian and Howard Marsden of Geneva. She graduated from Geneva High School in 1951 and from RIT in 1954 having obtained an Associates Degree in Retailing. Barbara worked in the retailing field in Cleveland, San Francisco and Los Angeles. She specialized as a buyer of fine bed and bath linens. Her favorite place was San Francisco where she had many friends. Barbara moved to Palmyra in the mid 80's to be closer to her family. She remained in the retailing field working for Linens and Things but she loved to sew and made clothing for her nieces, home décor items and did alterations for others. Barbara enjoyed making home improvements on her house and tending to her yard and gardens. She also enjoyed downhill skiing with the Wednesday Breakfast Girls. She was a spirited and independent women.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents and recently (3/5/13) by her sister Elizabeth Snyder. She is survived by her loving sister Lyn (Art) Elting of Palmyra; beloved nieces Kirsten Elting of Penfield and Jennifer (Tom) Barg of Wheaton, Ill.; nephew Michael Snyder of Sacramento, Calif. and wonderful friend and companion Carol Tellier.
