Two Steuben County men have been charged with murder following an investigation into the discovery of a body in a large kitchen cupboard of a vacant home in the city of Corning Saturday.
23-year-old Jacob Horn, of Painted Post, and 20-year-old Ryan Morrow, of Corning, are each charged with second-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence. The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Phillip Lough of Bath. State Police have not released a motive to the killing, or how Lough was killed,
Corning Police went to the Pine Street home Friday night for the report of an open door and checked the home but found no signs of anyone inside the dark abandoned structure. When officers went back Saturday to search the house in daylight, they discovered Lough's body. Investigators say the men arrested are acquaintances and knew Lough and the alleged murder was not a random act. The three men were reportedly at the crime scene last Wednesday night.
