The Seneca Falls Town Planning Board will not review a final site plan of the proposed Seneca Meadows Landfill-Finger Lakes Railway rail spur this week. The board was scheduled to review the plans this Thursday night.
The review will be Wednesday October 30th. The landfill and railway will need time to complete that report before it can be considered for final approval by the Planning Board.
The rail-spur plan received preliminary site-plan approval last month. The vote was 3-2 to approve the plan. At that September 26th meeting a total of 43 people addressed the Planning Board, arguing for and against the rail spur plan.

The final site review will look at the control and management of storm water runoff from the site.
Supporters say the rail spur will be a more cost-efficient transportation method. Opponents say the rail spur will result in garbage trains causing major traffic backups in both Seneca Falls and Waterloo.
