New IDs Released For Military Veterans

Military veterans only need to carry one ID now.  This past week, a bill was passed for veterans to have their military status as a special designation on their driver’s licenses.

This will save veterans from having to carry more than one ID in order to take advantage of special discounts and other programs available.  Their military paperwork can stay at home.

There is no additional fee for the new license, but all regular DMV transaction fees still do apply.  Veterans can apply when renewing their driver’s licenses by providing a copy of honorable discharge papers.
