The Town of Dix man convicted of being part of the largest methamphetamine bust ever made two years ago in Schuyler County is scheduled to be sentenced Tuesday.
A search warrant executed at 33 year old John Barton’s home on Roloson Hollow Road in May of 2011 not only turned up 30 grams of the drug, but meth making equipment, firearms, a pound of pot and almost 9-THOUSAND dollars in cash were found.
Barton was found guilty in June of conspiracy to manufacture and possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine; using his residence to manufacture, distribute and use methamphetamine and marijuana; and possession of firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking crimes. He faces a decade to life in prison plus a 10-MILLION dollar fine.
Last week, Shawn Rickard of Elmira, was sentenced to 8 years in federal prison for his role in the meth lab, while Chad Speicher of Beaver Dams, will be sentenced Wednesday.
