About two hundred students will move into brand new dorms at Corning Community College this weekend. The ribbon cutting for the new Perry Hall took place Friday. It was attended by CCC President Kate Douglas and other college officials, as well as parents of the students who will live in the dorms. Douglas said the project was completed without any public money. It was financed by Elmira Savings Bank and Chemung Canal Trust. Ground was broken in May, 2012. A group of neighbors filed suit trying to stop the project, but a court ruled against them. The incoming students will be the first to live on campus at CCC.
