New York Wine and Grape Foundation in Canandaigua received over three hundred thousand dollars in federal agriculture funding. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack released the 2013 allocations for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service Market Access Program or (MAP). Congressman Chris Collins has been supportive of MAP, which has been successful in helping promote U.S. agricultural products overseas.
In a statement Collins said, "MAP funding opens up new markets for American agricultural organizations, allowing these organizations to grow and remain competitive.”
This year, the FAS awarded funding to more than 70 U.S. agricultural organizations to help expand commercial export markets for their goods.
