A rally is planned Saturday in the Tompkins County village of Lansing to oppose a proposal that's been made to repower the Cayuga Power Plant. The Finger Lakes Action Network is helping organize Saturday's rally. Their spokesperson is Sam Law.
Law says its important to point out that while they're against the proposal to repower the plant using natural gas, they do support a just transition to non-industrial, local renewable energy in Lansing.
Saturday's rally will be held at the Power Plant off State Route 34B at 10 a.m. For more information, check out the Finger Lakes Action Network's Facebook page.
