Seneca Cayuga ARC receiving more money to help more people in Seneca and Cayuga County. The group, in a news release, says six thousand dollars is coming their way this year that willl provide new recreational opportunities for at least 30 people they help.

Seneca Cayuga ARC, one of 55 Chapters of NYSARC, Inc., has received an additional $6,000 this year to provide new recreational opportunities in Seneca and Cayuga counties for at least 30 people who receive services. Seneca Cayuga ARC will be able to ensure participation in community activities for adults and children such as bowling, dances, attending fairs or festivals and making a personal contribution to the community through volunteering. The NYSARC Trusts administer supplemental needs trusts that enable people who have an intellectual or other developmental disability to remain in their home and community and retain their Medicaid-eligible services. The Trustees utilize remainder funds to benefit other persons with disabilities, including unfunded Chapter guardianship, as provided by statute. In addition to the recreation grant, the Trustees awarded $1,225,500 to support Chapter Guardianship programs.
