ITT-Goulds Pumps Named Business of the Month (video)

The Finger Lakes Workforce Investment Board (FLWIB) announced today that June’s Business of the Month is ITT-Goulds Pumps. This is in recognition of the partnerships developed between ITT-Goulds Pumps and the Finger Lakes Workforce Investment Board, the company’s contribution to the local economy and the efforts to promote the FLWIB’s mission, vision and activities throughout the region.
A member of the FLWIB since 2006 Ron Golumbeck, Vice President and Director, Human Resources at ITT-Goulds Pumps, has chaired the Performance and Evaluation Committee since 2010. His leadership on the committee has proven to be instrumental in the re-certification of the Finger Lakes.
Works career one stop centers in the region as well as evaluating the effectiveness of the programs provided through the local workforce development system. Additionally Ron is a founding partner of the Finger Lakes Advanced Manufacturers’ Enterprise (FAME). This group of manufacturers is focused on the development of a strong workforce in Advanced Manufacturing.
Along with participating at the board level, ITT is a frequent user of the business services offered through the local workforce system including job posting and prescreening of applicants for positions available at ITT. Additionally, staff from the company volunteers their time to participate on panels presented to educators, employers and job seekers to promote careers in Advanced Manufacturing.
Currently ITT/Goulds participate as a Post in the Exploring program offered through the Seneca Waterways Council, Inc. High-school students interested in learning more about a career in advanced manufacturing are able to learn through hands-on activities led by staff at ITT/Goulds during the school year.
