Update: The investigation into the car vs. train accident on Kings Hill Road in the town of Torrey one week ago revealed a juvenile was driving the car at the time of the accident. The vehicle was traveling west on Kings Hill Road and failed to yield the right of way to the train, which was traveling north.
Two Penn Yan teens were injured Friday night after the car they were in was struck by a train on Kings Hill Road in the town of Torrey.
The initial investigation showed the car was traveling west at around 9 Friday night when it failed to yield at the railroad track crossing before being struck by the Norfolk Southern Train.
14 year old Angela Bruno was taken by Penn Yan Ambulance to Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital for treatment of neck pain. 15 year old Courtney Downs, also of Penn Yan, was treated and released at the scene, while 16 year old Keianna Borum was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of back pain. Bruno and Borum have been released from their respective hospitals.
The operator of the train, 44 year old Michael Price of Painted Post, was not injured.
