Penn Yan Man Drives Car Into Stream

A 73 year old Penn Yan man escaped serious injury Tuesday when his car left the road and ended up in a stream.

Franklin Carlson was traveling south on State Route 54 when three deer ran out in front of him.  Carlson’s car went off the west side of the road, striking a mailbox, fire hydrant and a utility pole before coming to rest in the stream. Carlson was checked over at the scene by Penn Yan Ambulance personnel and was released.

No tickets were issued.
