Trappler Found Guilty of Schuyler County Murder

Deliberations resumed at 9:30 this morning in the murder trial of Alice Trappler and a verdict was reached in a half-hour's time.

Jurors found the 41 year old Addison woman guilty of two counts each of second-degree murder and burglary, and one count conspiracy to commit murder in the second degree. Trappler was convicted of enlisting her former husband to kill 30-year-old Daniel Bennett, with whom Trappler had a daughter. The couple split before Trappler gave birth.

Trappler’s ex-husband, Thomas Borden, shot and killed Bennett during the overnight hours of April 19, 2012, at the Town of Dix home Bennett shared with his father.
