Baby Easton Friedel turned eight months old this week and his parents are now able to hold him again.
The Weedsport baby has been in and out of hospitals since his birth in August. He has epidermolysis bullosa, which causes painful blisters that can become infected.
Easton has been Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital for more than a month after he stopped breathing several times in March.
Easton Friedel's family has a new Facebook page for people who have been following the infant's ups and downs with a rare, genetic skin disease.
He had surgery Monday to change the type of ventilator he was on and now his parents, Danielle and Jared Friedel, are able to hold him again.
