3 Inergy Trespassers Sentenced to Jail

Three people were sentenced to 15 day jail terms in Schuyler County Jail after appearing in Reading Town Court Wednesday and refusing to pay their trespassing fines.

53 year old Sandra Steingraber of Trumansburg, 64 year old Michael Dineen of Ovid, and 55 year old Melissa Chipman of Hector pled guilty to trespassing on Inergy owned property in Reading back on March 18th.

They, along with 9 others who call themselves the "Seneca Lake 12" were protesting the company's plans to build an LPG storage and distribution hub, while expanding its natural gas storage facility there. Five others arrested at the protest paid their fines.

Three more are expected to appear in court next month.
