Whiting's Vision Kept Alive

It's been almost two years since Red Newt Cellars co-owner Deb Whiting was killed in a car crash. She was an early pioneer of the local food movement in the Finger Lakes and today, her vision is being kept alive by Red Newt chef Brud Holland, who says Whiting realized early on that the Finger Lakes could become a foodie destination.

Holland says the key to the growth of the movement is connecting chefs with growers.

Holland was a guest on our Finger Lakes Culinary Bounty segment on the Finger Lakes Morning News with Ted Baker. Hear the full conversation here.
