Congressman Takes Notice of Cancer Causing Agents

An anti-cancer organization says it's gotten the attention of an upstate Congressman on the issue of persistent organic pollutants, or POPS. Don Hassig of Cancer Action New York says POPS are everywhere.

Hassig says 21st District Congressman Bill Owens has written to a federal agency affiiliated with the Centers for Disease Contol to ask what's being done to educate the public about POPS.

A 2010 World Health Organization report listed POPS as a major health concern. Hassig was a guest on the Finger Lakes Morning News with Ted Baker. Hear the full conversation here.
