3 Year Old Saved By Parents, 911 Dispatcher

Quick work by a 911 dispatcher, emergency responders and family members resulted in a 3-year-old boy being saved after he fell into a pond near his home Saturday afternoon.

Yates County Sheriff Ron Spike said that Elmer Nolt fell into the water shortly after noon.

After his parents noticed he was missing and searched the area around their home for several minutes, Andrew Nolt found his son in shallow water, unresponsive and not breathing.

The boy’s parents were able to revive him after calling 911 and following CPR instructions given by Anne Niver, a senior dispatcher with the sheriff’s department.

The boy was under evaluation Saturday night at Strong. He is expected to recover.
