Two brothers and their father were arrested around 3am Saturday after a domestic incident.
21 year old Martin Scott and his 23 year old brother Kenneth Scott Jr. were arguing outside their home on Wall Street in Auburn.
When the police arrived, both men refused to listen to police orders to calm down.
Martin Scott was arrested for disorderly conduct for making unreasonable noise and
using abusive and obscene language in the front yard of his home. As Martin Scott was being
placed into a patrol vehicle Kenneth Scott Jr. became agitated toward Police and began yelling
and swearing. Kenneth Jr. was then advised he was under arrest as well and when Police went to
take him into custody, Kenneth Jr. attempted to run from Police. A short struggle ensued and he was eventually taken into custody.
During Scott Jr.’s arrest his father Kenneth Scott Sr. arrived on scene and tried to interfere with
his son’s arrest by pushing arresting Officers who were placing Scott Jr. into custody. Officer’s
then attempted to place Scott Sr. under arrest and he began to resist. During the struggle to place
him into custody he proceeded to punch one Officer in the face and caused a hand injury to
another Officer. Scott Sr. was subsequently taken into custody. Both Officers’ sought treatment
of their injuries at Auburn Community Hospital and were both released back to duty.
Martin Scott was charged with disorderly conduct, processed and given an appearance ticket. Kenneth Scott Jr was charged with Resisting arrest, Disorderly conduct and unlawful possession of marijuana and remanded to Cayuga County Jail with bail set at $500. Kenneth Scott Sr. was charged with Assault in the Second Degree for assault of a police officer, resisting arrest, Obstructing and Disorderly conduct. He was denied bail and will appear in court Monday.
