No Timetable on Yates-Schuyler Consolidation Study

A co-application has been submitted by Yates and Schuyler Counties seeking 100-THOUSAND dollars in grant money from the New York State Department of Local Government Efficiency for a consolidation of services study. If the money is approved and the green light is given, we asked Yates County Administrator Sarah Purdy how long the study would take.

                                 

Purdy says they don't know the turnaround time for when an award is made.

If the counties grant fund application fails, both counties will continue to look to have some services shared, similar to what Schuyler County currently has with Chemung County.
