The man allegedly responsible for a 12 hour police standoff in Victor on Monday appeared in court Thursday afternoon.
31-year-old Ryan Whidden was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and could also face reckless endangerment charges.
More than 60 officers from several different agencies were on the scene. Officials estimate that the standoff cost tens of thousands of dollars. No one was injured in the incident.
Police said Whidden then barricaded himself in a first-floor bedroom in the house and used his wife, Nina Whidden, as a shield.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff's Department, Whidden could still face other charges as they said he held his wife against her will.
The case could be presented to a grand jury.
Whidden is expected back in court March 22.
