A statewide outdoor residential burn ban goes into effect Saturday. The Department of Environmental Conservation prohibits burning during the high risk wild fire season March 16th through May 14th. Ontario County Emergency Management Director Jeff Harloff says all the dead and dry vegetation that is around this time of the year is great fuel for fires.
