A vote on creating the Greater Auburn Regional Sewer and Water Authority has been delayed again. The Auburn City Council took up the issue last night, but Councilor John Comardo suggested postponing a vote over concerns about whether City Manager Doug Selby looked at the city charter ahead of creating the counter-proposal. Part of the proposal created by Selby and two members of the Council would have the city lease out facilities to the authority, and gives Auburn three seats on the authority instead of one. Comardo says the authority would take power away from the council, as the charter states that the city council has the power to take over and manage the city's water system. City Attorney John Rossi says he'll take another look at the charter. The Council will take another look at the authority at a later date.
