With this week's news that the Daikin McQuay Plant in Auburn would be leaving the city by the end of next year, the Auburn City Council is wasting no time in trying to attract new businesses to Auburn. Last night the council voted in favor of creating an all-volunteer committee. It's known as the Auburn Business Promotion and Retention Committee. They'd be responsible for reaching out to companies and businesses in hopes they'll move to Auburn. Five people who do business in the city will be named to the committee, which will be selected by the council and Mayor Michael Quill.
