Schuyler Sheriff to Introduce SAFE Repeal Resolution

Schuyler County Sheriff Bill Yessman will present a resolution Monday morning to the county's Public Safety Criminal Justice Committee opposing and calling for the repeal of the NY SAFE Act. Sheriff Yessman told us the laws won't likely deter criminals from getting their hands on guns.

Yessman says the quick passage will impact many facets of law enforcement and government.

Yessman says he does support certain aspects of the new laws.

Yessman expects his resolution to be forwarded to the full county Legislature for its March meeting.
