Boil Water Order in Town of Fleming

A boil water order has been issued in the Town of Fleming. The Cayuga County Health Department says a water main break may have allowed contaminated water into the distribution system. This only affects people who use Fleming's public water, meaning anyone living on Bluefield, Dougall, Large, Ridge, and Sevior Roads are OK to drink their tap water since it comes from the town of Springport. In a news release, health department officials say people should boil water before using it for washing, drinking, and cooking. The department will let you know when the order will be lifted, which could be in a few days.
