Poll Shows Geneva Business Leaders OK with Smaller Minimum Wage Hike

The Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business Council surveyed the Chamber membership this past week on Governor Cuomo’s proposed minimum wage increase from $7.25 to $8.50 an hour.

Chamber President Liz Winter says 59% of those are opposed to the dollar-50 increase while  67% of respondents were willing to discuss a lower more gradual increase.

The idea of a so called training wage was mentioned by many. 

Many business leaders didn't care for the idea of a 20% increase all at once.
