A Republican Assemblyman apologizing for comparing Governor Andrew Cuomo to a dictator. Steven McLaughlin said Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini would be proud of the governor's strong push for gun control laws during a news conference Tuesday morning. McLaughin, who represents Albany, released a video later in the day saying he had apologized to Cuomo, after being sternly condemned by Democratic Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver.
