A Steuben County Grand Jury has indicted an elderly Wayland man with attempted murder for allegedly stabbing a neighbor in the neck.
78 year old Raymond O’Keefe is accused of stabbing Laura Thomas November 20th at Belanger Trailer Park in Wayland.
An investigation by State Police alleges O’Keefe stabbed the 48 year old Thomas in the neck after he knocked on her door. The victim’s husband immediately intervened. Investigators have released no motive for the attack.
O’Keefe was charged with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault and first-degree attempted assault.
