State Senator Mike Nozzolio has become chairman of the powerful Senate Codes Committee.
Nozzolio says the appointment will give him a better chance of getting Brittanys Law enacted .

Brittany's Law which is named after 12 year old Geneva murder victim Brittany Passalacqua who with her mother Helen Buchel were killed in 2009 would established a registry for ex-cons who went to prison for violent crimes.
Mother and daughter were died at the hands of John Edward Brown who had been released from prison after serving only 2 ½ years of a 3 year sentence for assaulting his infant daughter in 2003.
The law was passed in the Senate but floundered in the Assembly. Now it's has to be re-introduced and start over again
