When the lights went out in Seneca Falls this morning, half the kids were already at school and the other half were on the way. District Superintendent Bob McKevney tells us NYSEG figured the black out would only a couple of hours, so he decided to keep school open. They did alert parents.
The students might have been sent home if the outage dragged on.
At it's peak, the outage effected more than 44-hundred NYSEG customers in Seneca Falls and the Town of Fayette.
