She was once the pride of the lake on which she sailed for dinner cruises and wedding receptions. Now, the Keuka Maid is being dismantled.
Tour boat owner Jeremy Fields says the boat is being carefully dismantled and moved to Fields’ construction business in Canandaigua. Fields, CEO of Fields Construction in Canandaigua, paid $26,000 for the once-popular tour boat during an auction last October.

Fields plans to update the Urbana Tour Board tomorrow night on the future of the boat. Fields has paid the town 1,000 dollars he owed for renting docking space on Keuka Lake over the past two months.

Once a popular summer attraction, the Keuka Maid’s exterior has deteriorated since 2006, when then-owner Robert Pfuntner was unable to have the boat inspected for potential safety issues. Those issues led to years of court battles, and a civil jury last August said the boat had to be moved.
